Trump’s double-talk on abortion could terminate his chances to be president again, by Hal Brown, MSW

Thank you Arizona GOP. Not only may you have lost the state for Trump, but you have kept abortion in the news. The question of abortion rights has forced Trump into uttering gibberish about the will of the people and states rights and talking about executing babies after birth (see video).

Trump knows he has a divided audience when he addresses the issue of abortion. He seems to be trying to take a middle ground and in doing so is talking out of both sides of his mouth. The rabid anti-abortionists will vote for him no matter what while those with less extreme opinions could be swayed depending on how strongly they feel about a woman’s right to choose.

This YouGov poll (read article) is all he needs to see:

Approximately 30% of Republicans opposing a national abortion ban is enough to lose him the election. If even 10% of them feel strongly enough about freedom of choice to vote vote for Biden or just not vote at all, Trump will not be the next president.

Losing the election would have ginormous ramifactions for his legal plight. Even if Judge Cannon manages to derail the documents case, not a sure thing if doesn’t win the election, he will still face Jack Smith’s Jan. 6th prosecution.
