At least Trump isn’t hawking a Trump Haggadah for Passover, by Hal Brown, MSW

Not that you didn’t “get” the reason I have him holding the Haggadah upside-down…

Trump generally knows how to read a room and he knows that  68% of Jewish voters say they support Biden. If he thought he could make a buck hawking a Trump Haggadah, text that sets forth the order of the Passover Seder, without losing the antisemitic members of his base, I expected he’d do it.

He knows he has hugh support among White Evangelicals. This is why in his demented narcissism he thought hawking a Trump Bible just prior to Easter was a good idea.

Whether this will backfire among Christians remains to be seen. He may have misread the room in this instance.

This could result in some of his previously loyal White Evangelicals who were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on his claims of being a pious Christian despite all evidence to the contrary may consider that selling a $60 version of the Christian Holy Book is an attempt at self-promotion and a money making grift that is just too much for them to take. If it does turn enough of them against him, Trump may have an Easter egg on his face.

The illustration is a cartoon I made with AI showing Trump looking at the sun in 2017 during the eclipse in may be an early combination of his “the rules don’t apply to me” narcissism (i.e.. the adult version of childhood oppositionial defiant personality disorder,) his medical ignorance, and the poor judgment associated with early dementia.

Earlier this week, Donald Trump unveiled his newest grift to squeeze money out of his cult followers: Trump-branded Bibles. Claiming the book contains the “King James version” and “also includes the Founding Father [sic] documents,” Trump promised “you have to have it for your heart, for your soul.” The screenshots of the video are funny by themselves, but I highly recommend watching the ad Trump cut for these Bibles. Trump radiates total contempt for Christianity.

This is Trump in his angry-bored mode, letting viewers know with his listless tone and posture that he thinks all this Bible stuff is dumb. The not-at-all subtle message of the video is that Trump doesn’t believe any of this faith-in-God crap, but he definitely believes in using Christian identity as a weapon to make money and dominate his foes.

Many Trump opponents on social media replied with video clips underscoring how Trump may be the single most ignorant person in the country about the contents of the Bible.
