Why it should matter to Trump that the Taylor Swift Eras Tour is a blockbuster on Disney+? By Hal Brown, MSW

Michael Cohen discussing the value of Truth Social just mentioned her on Morning Joe noting that Taylor Swift has over 100 million followers on X.

This is what Cohen said:

“I understand it has like 15 million users on it,” he elaborated. “Compare that to somebody like Taylor Swift who has 120 million followers — 120 million. What is the profitability that they are making the statement that it is worth not just into the millions or the hundreds of millions, but into the billions of dollars? I don’t buy it either.”

RawStory

This is just a coincidence since I’d already started writing this blog. It does demonstrate how Taylor Swift and the Swifites have become a pervasive and potent political force. Consider:

We’ll never know whether Ron DeSantis regrets taking on Disney when he was still running for president. When he runs for office again we’ll see how Florida voters feel about it. Everyone should know that there’s no love lost when it comes to how Trump feels about Taylor Swift, so the following should be taken with a grain of salt:

I hardly think that Trump’s response here means anything:

Donald Trump has seemingly shut down rumors of a feud between himself and pop star Taylor Swift.

During a Super Bowl party at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Financial Times journalist Jemima Kelly asked the former president what he really thinks of the singer. According to Kelly, Trump described Swift as “nice” before walking away, suggesting his reported animosity towards the singer has been overblown.

If there’s one celebrity Trump has dreams, erotic or otherwise, about getting their support you can bet it’s Taylor Swift. Dream on, Trump. When you wake up to reality you’ll have to be content with D-listers endorsing you, not all of whom are sane.

Back to a celebrity that doesn’t induce nausea:

Taylor Swift is calling out Donald Trump.

The singer, 29, candidly spoke about her disapproval of the president and today’s political climate during a raw interview with The Guardian.

“[He’s] gaslighting the American public into being like, ‘if you hate the president, you hate America,” Swift explained to the newspaper.

She added, “We’re a democracy — at least, we’re supposed to be — where you’re allowed to disagree, dissent, debate.”

However, this isn’t something she believes Trump respects.

“I really think that he thinks this is an autocracy,” Swift told The Guardian in reference to the system of government in which one person has absolute power

If she felt this way in 2019 I can only imagine how more alarmed she is about the possiblity of his becoming president now.

We know how Trump is obsessed with the size of his crowds. This has prompted articles like Taylor Swift, Donald Trump Joke Goes Viral in Newsweek.

Excerpt:

Taylor Swift and Donald Trump have been pitted against each other once again, this time over the number of people they can attract to live events.

The former president just won the New Hampshire Republican primary and has been hosting campaign events around the country. Swift is on a break from her record-breaking The Eras Tour, which will see her perform more than 100 shows across five continents. It has already become the highest grossing tour of all time.

Now millions of Swifties who couldn’t make it to a live Eras Tour concert or see it in a theater or those who want to see it again, we have millions more who will be watching it on Disney+. Trump is going up against both Disney and Taylor Swift.
