Highll relevant update: Journalist catches Sen. Katie Britt in an ‘out and out lie’ (about the rape!) in her State of Union response.
Excerpt:
Katz’s digging turned up some proof the victim didn’t experience the attacks on American soil, but he also found that the timeline proved Biden wasn’t even in office.
There was a trip that Britt took along with Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) along with Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) to the the Del Rio Sector back in last January — all documented on Blackburn’s website.
He then cross-referenced the details and found the name: Karla Jacinto Romero, who is described as being pimped by a 22-year-old man at the age of 12, and “enslaved until the age of 16 in brothels, roadside motels and homes in Guadalajara and other cities in Mexico.”
These events didn’t happen in the United States,” said Katz. “These crimes didn’t take place in the United States. Or even near the border. They took place in Mexico.”
And they also took place, according to Romero’s recounting before Congress, between 2004 and 2008.

I’m sure that the GOP would prefer that Sen Katie Britt who gave the Republican response to The State of the Union address would be the face of the party rather than Marjorie Tayor Greene who managed to make the news by shouting out “say her name” referring to a woman murdered by an undocumented immigrant.

Sen. Britt said the following which stuck me one of the two most objectionable things she said.
I traveled to the Del Rio sector of Texas, where I spoke to a woman who shared her story with me. She had been sex trafficked by the cartels starting at age 12. She told me not just that she was raped every day, but how many times a day she was raped.
The cartels put her on a mattress in a shoebox of a room, and they sent men through that door, over and over again, for hours and hours on end.

Her imagery here is horribly evocative and probaby the first time part of a response to a State of the Union address would be R rated.
Britt is the only mother of school-aged children in the Senate Republican Conference. She has two children, a son and a daughter, in 8th and 9th grade (reference ) so they’d be old enough to listen to this but I wonder if she’d consider it to have been appropriate to hear when they were 12.
And then she had her own Willy Horton story:
Just think about Laken Riley. In my neighboring state of Georgia, this beautiful, 22-year-old nursing student went out on a jog one morning. But she never got the opportunity to return home. She was brutally murdered by one of the millions of illegal border crossers President Biden chose to release into our homeland.
That could’ve been my daughter. It could’ve been yours.
In the prelude to the State of the Union speech Marjorie Taylor Greene put a pin with “Remember Lauren Riley” on it into Biden’s hand when he walked by. It backfired (read here).
Midway through the speech, Biden started talking about border security and called on Congress to pass legislation to secure the border and modernize the country’s outdated immigration laws, praising the bipartisan effort that collapsed when his likely Republican presidential rival, Donald Trump, opposed it.
Greene interjected, “Say her name!”
The congresswoman from Georgia yelled, pointing a finger, and jabbing it toward Biden.
And then Biden did just that.
He held up the white button, and said: “Laken Riley.”
Biden spoke briefly of her death and he made reference to his own family’s trauma — his first wife and young daughter were killed in 1972 after an automobile crash. His son, Beau, died of brain cancer in 2015.
And then he urged Congress to work together to pass a border security compromise.
“Get this bill done!” Biden said.

I endured her entire speech but throughout it I kept thinking how there was no hint in her horror at what she says Biden has done through action and inaction and would continued to do that the alternative to him was a man who has actually raped women.
Addendum:
Here’s the Morning Joe reaction to her speech. ‘Whoa’: Morning Joe panel baffled by Katie Britt’s ‘TikTok tradwife’ SOTU response.
