Trump doesn’t have to read a word written by Hitler. He only has to read one 824 word article to know what he has to do if he gets elected again to achieve his dictatorial goals. Can he pull it off? By Hal Brown, MSW

The dismantling of German Democracy in the 1930s: Key Milestones explains how Nazi Germany was “really a kind of power cartel between three groups: Hitler and his elite (including the SS though not really the party itself); the army, which had huge influence and power; and big business.”

Fortunately there’s a huge difference between 1930’s Germany and 21st century America. There’s also a major difference betwen what Hitler wanted and what Trump wants.

Hitler wanted to conquer Europe and England to create an empire over which he’d rule. In order to do this he had to build a formidable military industrial complex. He did this, but not with the intention of conquering Germany.

Trump wants to rule the United States which already has a formidable military industrial complex. Technically the president is Commander in Chief but in practice it remains to be seen whether he could exercise control over it if he wanted to invoke the Inssurection Act to turn it against American citizens who oppose his rule. As I wrote previously, state National Guards could defy illegal orders. He thinks that winning a civil war would be as easy as taking control of the military the way Hitler did. Even if he did this there’s a good chance blue states which have their own armed forces (the National Guard) could fight back ( read my blog about this here).

Hitler demonized German Jews. Jews represented less than 1% of the total population (reference).

Trump wants to demonize to varying degrees to at least half the population of the United States, not only immigrants “poisoning the blood” but Democrats and never-Trump Republicans and Independents.

He also thinks that winning a civil war would be as easy as taking control of the military the way Hitler did. Even if he did this there’s a good chance blue states which have their own armed forces (the National Guard and law enforcement agencies) would fight back ( read my blog about this here).

Hitler took control of the judiciary. Trump thinks he can control the Supreme Court. Whether a majority would go along with his dictatorial actions remains to be seen.

Hitler basically disolved the German Parliment with the Enabling Act.

Trump could become president and the Democrats could end up controlling both houses of Congress. Even if the Republicans had a majority in one or both if Trump pushed the country into chaos it’s possible he’d be impeached by the House and convicted in the Senate.

Then if legally removed from office he might try to retain his power and refuse to leave the White House while furiously issuing excutive orders to people and agencies who would have to break the law to enact them.

The only legal physical protection he’d have would be the Secret Service detail former presidents are entitled to. Their job is to protect the president from harm but not from being forced to vacate the White House by US Marshalls.

One response to “Trump doesn’t have to read a word written by Hitler. He only has to read one 824 word article to know what he has to do if he gets elected again to achieve his dictatorial goals. Can he pull it off? By Hal Brown, MSW”

  1. Hal, everything you spoke to is what he attempted to do on 1/6/2021.
The one item you have not addressed is that after the horrendous outcome of World War I, Germany was essentially a pariah and bankrupt by its forced reparations to the nations it engaged in hostilities with.
Because of this sick financial situation, Germany was ripe for a takeover by a predatory political syndicate. Predatory political syndicate essentially means fascism, it is mob rule rather than process, precedent and deliberation. It is reactive “They whack us, we whack them” – a form of oversimplified guerilla state of chaos.
Our economic engine, while carrying this rather absurd concept of a deficit, still hires, trains, develops, manufactures, services, finances, and accomplishes what living economies do. We haven’t interrupted our economy with a war on our soil. We did have the fight of our lives with the Pandemic in 2020. Orange’s carelessness and glib backhanding of the matter set us up to fail, but we fought back very hard and did not become a recreation of 1930’s Germany.
What Orange Excrement is trying to do is accomplish a mission set upon him by his Russian masters, the Vor y Zakone, the Oligarchs and of course, Prince Vlad. Russia DID fail. It dissolved into a former self, a smaller version, one where many of its former Soviet entities became independent due to their own need to restructure. Ukraine is but one of those satellites. Ukraine was in fact the heart and soul of Mother Russia at its height. Ukraine accounts for 10% of world wheat, 15% of world corn, 13% of world barley. Russia gets no financial benefit of any of that. The Donetsk Oblast is critical to Russian deployment in the Mediterranean.
When Afghanistan became too costly in 1989, the Russkies pulled out, and it was not so much the embarrassment on the world stage as the devaluation of the ruble that drove dissolution of CCCP (USSR) in 1991. It follows that Russia is attempting to pursue a Hitleresque way out of its shrinking world stage presence.
In a bankrupt state, there is opportunity for predatory political syndicates to arise.
That is what Putin has endeavored to accomplish, and that is what value he places in having Donald back in the Oval Office. It gives him a suitable puppet that he can manipulate.
If we’re drunk-uncle stupid enough to put Orange Feces back in, then we’ll wind up just like Hungary, with a dictator who refrains from opposing the Kremlin.

But then, again, I could be wrong…
