Chris Christie was interviewed on Morning Joe this morning:

While the majority of people watching MSNBC, where he has become a frequent guest, aren’t Republicans those that do watch are never-Trumpers and probably already are considering whether a vote for him in the primary makes sense instead of voting for someone who has a better chance of winning.
Since I rarely watch Fox News I wondered whether he’s been interviewed there. I checked. He has.

Christie surpassed the Republican National Committee’s 70,000 unique donor requirement for the third debate. This was 30,000 more donors than he had back in July (reference). For the next GOP debate candidates will need 80,000 unique donors, and at least 200 from each of 20 or more states and territories. The candidates must garner at least 6% in two approved national polls, or 6% in one poll from two separate early-voting states: Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina.
Given his low standing in the polls I can see why Christie would be scrambling to appear on as many TV shows as possible. He has to meet the requirements to be in the fourth debate.
The debate will be in Tuscaloosa, at the University of Alabama and hosted by NewsNation, a rightwing cable channel I’d never heard of. See Wikipedia. Anyone can submit a question to be considered for the debate on the NewsNation website here.

The first two debates, hosted by Fox, and the third hosted by NBC, were easy to view. The fourth debate will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. Central time and 8 p.m. Eastern on broadcast network The CW and on NewsNation’s cable presence, and live-streamed on www.NewsNationnow.com and Rumble. Audio can be heard on SiriusXM Triumph channel 111.
As in previous debates those not tuning in live will see highlight segments repeated and discussed on the stations they usually view.
Elizabeth Vargas, the Peabody award-winning anchor ( for her contributions in ABC News’ coverage of Hurricane Sandy on 20/20) of NewsNation’s “Elizabeth Vargas Reports,” Megyn Kelly, host of “The Megyn Kelly Show” on SiriusXM and Eliana Johnson, editor-in-chief of The Washington Free Beacon, will moderate the debate.

Christie needs to have a breakout performance. He has to go well beyond pulling a cute bunny rabbit out of his hat. He must surprise everyone with something besides his usual sales pitch of sane competence. He has to reach into his magical hat and instead of pulling out a cuddly bunny rabbit he has to pull out a really unexpected rabbit out of his hat.
