While there is talk about how if Trump wins Elon Musk may have substantial influence on him I haven’t see one thing addressing. Musk is one of the more unpopular figures in America. It is hard to find anyone who likes him as a person. There are those who like how he changed Twitter when he bought it and renamed it X, but they may also find his to be an arrogant person with no redeeming personal qualities. Those who find Trump charismatic probably look at Musk with his skraggy facial hair and think “yuck.”
I’m interested to see if Musk will speak at the Republican National Convention. A close friend of his, David Sacks, has already addressed the convention. I haven’t seen any announcments that he will speak there. While Trump may be afraid of being upstaged by him he’d be wise not to tie himself too closely to Musk the man even though he’s happy to accept his money.
If you never heard Musk speak here’s a short clip:

I doubt many of those reading this will every look at Musk’s own X page (here).

It is a mixed bag of self-congratulatory posts, poltics, attacks against other media, juvenile attempts at humor, and what he thinks passes for deep philosophical thought like his posting “Timely truth is immensely important for the collective consciousness to function well” yesterday.
Here are a few sampe Musk posts:

I posted a link to this article on my X page Let’s see if someone takes it off.

On a personal note, I have friends who are fans of Telsa and are on their fifth one. They invested in Tesla stock when it was affordable for middle class people and as you can imagine they are happy that they did. They used to like him but that was when the evil Elon emerged. Now they can’t stand him.
