‘Humiliating details’ from Stormy Daniels are physically ‘impacting’ Trump: reporter

Excerpt:

He “had trouble controlling his reactions. There were different times when he started shifting around and seemed to be mumbling, and the judge eventually called him out for that, at least privately,” Josh Gerstein reported with Ben Feuerherd adding, “The one main thing that I saw and that we’ve reported is that when Daniels was describing rolling up his magazine swatting him on the backside with it, Trump sort of laid back in his chair, and I saw in the feed that he mouthed, ‘Bull—t.’”

Former federal prosecutor and current Politico contributor Ankush Khardori observed, “To my eyes, it does look like he’s a little slumped down in his appearances, even when he’s in front of a camera — not just the pictures and the reporting from within the courtroom.”

That led Politico’s Meredith McGraw to add, “I’m sure these are humiliating details to have talked about every day on the news. His people close to him have said that this is a kind of punishment for him in and of itself — that he obviously is not enjoying any of this.

… and this:

The subtitle above really says it all: “At some deep level, the former adult film star clearly has his number and knows how to hit him where it hurts.” The more Trump behaves obnoxiously in court, whether held in contempt or not, the more he will present himself as unlikeable to the jury. She has been able to trigger him by telling the so-called lurid details more than any other witness has elicited a negative reaction so far.

Legal pundits are debating which witness will be the most damaging to Trump and how their testimony will influence the jury. Many are saying that the case will be decided by the accumulated evidence that will lead to a guilty verdict.

Juries are instructed to base their decision on the evidence and depending on the judge they are told in various ways not to be influenced by whether they or not like the defendent.

From the reporting so far Stormy Daniels has both come across as likable and even engaging. Her descriptions of her sexual encounter with Trump and his courtroom reactions to her testimony have painted a picture of him as unlikable if not disgusting.

Because Trump says he not only never had sex with Stormy but that didn’t even know her, on the sex part alone it boils down to a he says/she says situation. Only one of them can be telling the truth. In other words, one of them is a liar. If it is Trump this reflects on his credibilty about everything he claims. The jurors will consider that if he lies about one thing there;s a good chance he lies about everything related to what he is charged with. None of the charges relate to the sexual encounter per se. They have to do with the money paid to silence her.

If the jurors believe Stormy’s accounts they are most likely to see him as sleazy. They may also find his courtroom behavior obnoxious. However, what is most important when they deliberate is whether they see him as a liar. Thus, even if they heed the judges instructions about not deciding Trump’s guilt on whether they like him or not in rendering a verdict on whether they think his defense is honest is legitimate.

Update:

Trump’s lawyers are trying depict Stormy Daniel as a liar. From what I can tell they are not having any success:

I think this will be the last screenshot I’ll post. I do have another life! In the one just on MSNBC I think it should be noted that there’s a big difference between safely having sex in a studio and being alone in a bedroom with a man.

Unnecessary Addendum:

There’s a line in Harper Lee’s aclaimed novel “To Hill a Mockingbird” describing the rape of the character Mayalla Ewell which uses the term “rutting” or “ruttin’” to desribe intercourse. Her husband uses it to describe what he says he saw. About the least titilating sexual imagery between humans (usually the word describes mating between animals) which I can imagine is to visualize Trump ruttin’ on Stormy.
