The woman from Bamberg, South Carolina has not only picked up in attacking Trump from where Chris Christie left off but outdone the Newark, New Jersey brawler who called Trump a  “lonely, self-serving, self-consumed mirror hog” among other things. If Haley is a southern belle ringing a warning attention grabbing bell it’s an eardrum shattering bell.

In the campaign video above she shows the home she grew up in, but significantly reminds viewers that the Republicans lost the popular vote in the last seven out of eight elections. This was a mild dig at Donald Trump compared to how she’s talking about him now.

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley on Wednesday stepped up her attacks against Donald Trump, lashing out at the former president as toxic, chaotic, self-absorbed and lacking moral clarity.

“The Breakfast Club” host Charlamagne tha God asked the Republican presidential candidate to explain how Trump changed politics for both good and bad.

“He’s made it chaotic. He’s made it self-absorbed. He’s made people dislike and judge each other,” the former U.N. ambassador said. “He’s left that a president should have moral clarity and know the difference between right or wrong. And he’s just toxic.”

Haley has in recent weeks escalated her attacks against Trump, pointing to his string of gaffes and flubs as signs that he is “confused” and questioning if he is “mentally fit” for the job.

It is clear that Nikki Haley has unwrapped the Christmas gift and discovered it’s a powerful Trump destroying wood chipper, a gift that keeps on giving.

As far as President Biden goes, I am sure that he’d rather run against Donald Trump than Nikki Haley. One of the primary reasons is that Trump will take the “too old to be president” issue off the table. As long as Haley is running against Trump he hardly has to bring up the mentally fit matter since she is doing it for him.

Haley is running against both Trump and Biden using her age as a talking point when suggests that neither 80 year old has the cognitive sharpness to be president. This is a signal that if she does win the nomination this is something she will use against Biden.

Biden will have to avoid any indications that he lacks mental acuity. It will be difficult for him to avoid all slips or gaffes since he likes to speak spontaneously. This is part of what makes him engaging.

I think I am like many Democrats in being torn between wanting Trump to go down in flames so Nikki Haley is the nominee to save American democracy from being destroyed and wanting Nikki Haley to run accepting that a President Haley at least wouldn’t end up as a insane dictator in the mold of Idi Amin, only an Idi Amin with a modern army at his disposal.
