If Haley plays the waiting game Trump could die, but more likely he’ll slip down the slippery slope of senility.

Nikki Haley may earn herself the nickname of “Tricky Nikki” just by playing the long game and staying in the race until the bitter end.
There are two ways she could become the nominee and very possibly become the next president.
One is waiting for the hour glass of life to just run out on Trump. Trump’s father lived to be 93 and his mother lived to be 88 so, as he has bragged, he may very well have the best genes when it comes to longevity.
This leaves the other possibility. As I have written in my previous two blogs Trump is showing more and more signs of dementia and/or psychosis. For the first time Nikki Haley is making Trump’s manifestions of mental unfitness an issue in her campaign.
Some of Trump’s supporters are so loyal to him that they not only forgive him any stumbling and bumbling and burning of facts but like him more when he does this. Others may be less tolerant and see that he has lost so much cognitive ability that he is unfit to be president. It won’t be the Democrats and never-Trump Republicans who will be hitting this home, it will be Nikki Haley.
Trump, misogynist that he is, can’t abide having a woman, and a woman of color at that, standing up to him, especially not as Haley is beginning demonstrate that she is willing and able to do this. I wouldn’t be surprise if Haley is studying every video of Trump and Hillary Clinton (note to Trump, you never ran against Obama) debating to see where she can avoid the mistakes Hillary made.
Trump hates being told what to do. Consider what happened when the Secret Service refused to take him to the Capitol on Jan. 6th. Now he has judges telling him what he can and can’t do, and they have power over him like nobody ever has.
While Trump has an unusual psychological make-up he is not unique. Everyone has psychological defense mechanisms. Trump’s are primitive, mainly denial, repression, and often projection. While they have worked for him before everyone has a breaking point when they lose their equilibrium.
As stress increases Trump is going to be more and more prone to making mistakes whether or not he is suffering from early dementia. I doubt this will be the last time something like his confusing Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi, another woman who has famously stood up to him (the photos of her lecturing him had to have pissed him off).
It will be interesting to see if Trump in his arrogance decides to debate Haley. Since DeSantis is out of the race she has nobody to debate besides Trump. If Trump decides to debate Haley I think he will be in for a big surprise because she will be prepared for every dirty trick he will throw at her. One debate could earn her the nickname of Tricky Nikki.
While Nikki Haley probably dosen’t read RawStory she is no doubt aware of the the wide reporting on all of the reporting on Trump using terms like “truly confused”, “Trump’s confusion”, and “elderly, crazed, felon.” Morning Joe said his mind is scrambled eggs and the editor of the New Republic asks if he’s losing his marbles .

This may be the first time in political history that two candidates from different parties will use the same ad against a third opponent. All Haley would have to do is change President Biden’s words to “I don’t agree with President Biden on everything but we agree on this much: I’m not Nancy Pelosi.”

If Trump ends up as the eventual candidate the longer Haley stays in the race the better for Biden because since she will have been acting in his behalf every time she makes the case that Trump is unfit to be president.
