Dedicated to E who made a me into a huge Taylor Swift fan. The mega-star wasn’t only the Time Magazine Person of the Year but there is now a field of study called Swiftology which is being taught at many universities including Harvard (read artilce in USA Today).

The course at Harvard has 294 students enrolled. It is taught by Stephanie Burt who has been called on of the most influential poetry critics of her generation.
I don’t know who will end up running against the current Trump supporting senator from Tennessee Marsha Blackburn. If Taylor Swift ran I think she’d be a shooin. If she was a senator for one or two terms she’d be positioned to run for president.
Taylor Swift made the news for calling Blackburn “Trump in a wig” which is not a pretty sight to imagine.

According to this article the Democratic field is getting crowded.
I doubt Taylor Swift would actually decide to run to represent her home state in the U.S. Senate, at least not in the near future (she could run in two years against Republican Bill Hagerty), but she certainly has no love for Marsha Blackburn. Their hostility goes back several years. Just Google “Marsha Blackburn Taylor Swift feud” (here).
Consider this from Variety in 2021:
Although Taylor Swift is probably not inclined to take any advice from Marsha Blackburn, the Republican senator from Tennessee that she forcefully campaigned against in the last election. Blackburn is offering the singer some anyway: Watch out, because the Marxists who want to take over America will be coming for you first.
In an interview with the conservative outlet Breitbart, Blackburn warned of leftist totalitarianism she believes is an imminent thread to American freedom, saying that Swift will be banned altogether from public life if the country takes a leftward tilt, and all but suggesting she would be headed for a gulag if progressive trending goes unchecked.
“Taylor Swift came after me in my 2018 campaign. But Taylor Swift would be the first victim of that,” Blackburn said as her interviewer nodded, “because when you look at Marxist socialistic societies, they do not allow women to dress or sing or be on stage or to entertain or the type of music she would have. They don’t allow protection of private intellectual property rights.”

This article in Jezebel explains the feud. Excerpt:
Sen. Marsha Blackburn isn’t a very bright woman. The Tennessee Republican believes universal daycare is Soviet propaganda, doesn’t believe in climate change, and has done more to defend the intellect of Neanderthals than defend her constituents against the covid-19 pandemic, which infected nearly one million Tennesseans and killed over 12,500. And now, she’s decided to make yet another questionable decision: Rehashing some old beef with singer Taylor Swift.
In an interview with Breitbart this week, Blackburn invoked Swift in a paranoid ramble about “woke” country music and Marxism in America:

For those of you who may just consider Taylor Swift to be social phenomena or a talent singer or both without the chops to serve in government I urge you to watch at least this video.

There is a bit of a movement developing which is suggesting that Taylor Swift could end up as president. While having just turned 34 she can’t serve until she was 35 so this is obviously a fantasy for now, but if she ended up as a U.S. Senator she’d certainly be in a position to run in the future.
For the present Taylor Swift could end up moving enough people to vote for Biden that she makes the difference between the United States staying a democracy or a dictatorship.

While her legion of fans and admirers are jumping the gun on proposing her running for president which you can see if you aren’t averse to looking at Twitter/X here. If you search the Twitter/X hashtag #TaylorSwiftforPresident you’ll see tweets like these:

At this time I don’t want to be a naysayed but Taylor Swift has some learn’n to do before I’d feel comfortable with her being the leader of the Free World. If she spent the next two years emersed in study I have no doubt she’d be qualified to be a U.S. Senator. Just count the GOP Senators currently serving and you can see what a low bar has been established by many of the currecnt crop including Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Ron Johnson, Tom Cotton, John Kennedy, J.D. Vance, and of course Tommy Tuberville.
Scoff if you will, but Taylor Swift could decide to “settle down” from her non-stop musical career feeling that it’s time to get married and have some kids and pursue a compratively relaxed life in politics.
I can see her serving a term or two as a U.S. Senator and running for president.
Consider that 17 U.S. senators ended up becoming president. Obama only was a senator for three years and Nixon for four years.

Who knows, since I am almost 80 I could even live to see a President Taylor.

We could even see touch football returning as the presidential backyard family sport, albeit without the gear and uniform.

I could see the kids wearing these:
