This is the number one trending story on RawStory today: ‘Ewww’: Internet erupts over photos of Mike Johnson at ‘purity ball’ with his daughter (click here).

I decided, as I often do on RawStory, to make an illustration (above) in lieu of a comment. A picture can be worth, if not 1000 words, at least a dozen.

Some of the other comments, none with illustrations, to this article are as follows. They are listed simply in the order they were published.


  • looks more like an Incel event where the pathetic, old White males trade daughters for the evening….
  • Evangelicals dancing? Not supposed to be that way. “Pick up a Bible and read it.” indeed.
  • I still find it comical the Puritanical “Moms For Liberty” co-founder was doing the gay with her husband and another woman. Then the husband wanted sex with the other woman and she said she was in it more for his wife. So he raped her. Only in Florida.
  • JHC, Johnson is probably more depraved than we suspect, wait for it?

  • Mike Johnson is so deep in the closet he’s finding Christmas presents.

  • It’s just creepy. I can’t even imagine my father ever having done something like that. Yuck. And I also doubt most fathers talk about sex to their daughters.
  • Seems borderline incestuous, I suspect that is the reason why so many people are using the words “creepy” or “spooky” to describe it. There are other reasons, it is demeaning and controlling. The insinuation is that a woman would be somehow considered soiled or dirty for having sex out of wedlock, its complicated. I will just call it creepy.
  • And the horny teen boys sign where?
  • The daughter has to sign a pledge to her father? That’s coercive control. There’s a lot that is seriously wrong with Johnston and his cult of Christian Nationalists.

    Hal I left a comment in our DTW location about Ms. Bridget. Here’s what I wrote:

    We all have a stranger we don’t let anyone else see.
    Even strange to us, in fact.
    Billy Joel’s lyric for “The Stranger” is at first glance completely sexual, however, the substrate for our sexual appetites and practices is in our personality and nurturing. If we grew up in an environment where sexual behaviors were unregulated, and “anything goes” including creating records of our hedonistic behaviors, it is likely we’ll be more inclined to tolerate it in our own lives.
    If we grew up sheltered, then we might not be as adventurous or willing to experiment when the stimuli come along. CAUTION: I’m not suggesting that we don’t see someone pick up variant practices. Sheltered people can, and do, move to exhibitionism to break out of their introvert self.
    If we grew up repressed, meaning, there was a deliberate obfuscation about how babies arrive, how mommy and daddy play, how we got 8 billion humans to populate our planet, It isn’t just the sex part we’re dealing with. It becomes a problem of dealing with a “Flat-Earther” brain, one that rejects all possible introduction of knowledge.
    People are weird. Bridget Ziegler is weird, too. They’re stupid for not keeping the dalliance sequestered in their own library. Once stuff gets into the cloud, there’s no getting it back and scrubbing it is damned near impossible.
    HINT: All newer phones, whether iPhone or Android, store photos and video in the Cloud. Don’t use a device with connectivity unless you want the scrutiny in your life.
    Do your weird with someone you feel safe with. No movies, unless you want global distribution via various mob-tied syndications. Keep your sex play what it should be – intimate. Limited participants, who all get along and can agree to keep their business to themselves.
    Chacque a son gout, as the French say…

    Mike Johnson is a weirdo. The psychosexual energy exuded by the Christian Nationalists should be harnessed, turned into electricity, because these folks are all so effin horny and they want to be porn actors, too! We could run a few small cities on their juice!

      Thanks you for posting this on my Stressline blog. Very few people make comments there. I am trying to get as many readers as I did when I used the Google Blogger platform but it is going very slowly. When I used to post on Daily Kos it was hit and miss but every once in awhile something I posted there got reommended and lots of people read it and I had over 100 comments. Then I was banned… with no recourse to appeal what I thought was an unfair action. I do appreciate you and everyone who reads my blogs. Hal
