What I know about Constitional law could fit into a shot glass, but I’m still curious about how, if the Supreme Court rules that presidents are immune from everything except perhaps getting sick from smallpox infected blankets. By Hal Brown, MSW

I am only a bonafide expert in mental health matters but that doesn’t stop me from blogging, hopeful with a modicum of rationality, about things I don’t know much about. I do try to engage in some research when I write about subjects like religion which I regularly do.

From everything I’ve read and heard about the Supreme Court taking the case about whether a president can or can’t be prosecuted for any crime which he is accused of committing while he is in office the experts I’ve heard say this would be like declaring that a president is like an emperior.

While a nine-zero decision should be a no-brainer I really hope that at least one justice rules the other way.

Of course Clarence Thomas, should recuse himself, his is the likely vote for the imperial presidency.

I hope to see the court rule 8-1 just so I can read the dissent whether it comes from Thomas, someone else, or several justices. It would be one for the history books. If it’s from Thomas it will cement the dissent as one of the most egregious in history ever made by a single justice..
