Ad algorithm next to article “Impeachment inquiry falling flat with target audience: right-wing media” augments my own addition – it fell flat and is about to be cremated. By Hal Brown, MSW

Yesterday I wrote The House impeachment snipe hunt/ fishing expedition won’t implicate President Biden, but the real hunt they may fail at is trying to find major TV coverage.

My premise was the following:

In order for Trump and his armored clown car army to get what they want they need, getting their Dear Leader re-elected, or as some of his cult have put it, enable Trump to be the 45, 46, and 47th president they need publicity. They need O.J. Simpson level viewership of whatever public hearings they have. They need to convince undecided voters that Biden is evil and Trump is their savior.

To do this they have to offer major TV networks enough drama so they preempt their usual programming. They need to have viewers on the edges of their seats waiting for Jim Jordan to bring out his version of the black gloves found at the murder scene of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.

Thier cult already watches either Fox News or one of the lesser players like Newsmax. Their mind is made up. Even so, the wild card is Fox News. They have to sell advertising and unless enough people want to watch something live I doubt they will waste airtime.

A day later it turns out that I was off the mark in my speculation, and off the mark in a good way. It turns out that much of right-wing media including the highest viewership Fox network channels, is dismissing the Biden impeachment snipe hunt slash fishing expedition as a waste of air time and something that won’t attract enough viewers to satisfy the advertisers they depend on to fund their stations.

This is from The Guardian:

US rightwing media begins to show signs of ‘impeachment fatigue’

Some networks and figures are taking more skeptical approach to Republican bid to impeach Biden despite no evidence.

That article begins:

Amid the Republican clamor to impeach Joe Biden this week, some in the rightwing media have been more skeptical about the process moving ahead despite no evidence of wrongdoing by the president.

Several figures at Fox News, a usually reliable mouthpiece for most Republican party initiatives in Washington DC, have shown signs of “impeachment fatigue”, appearing to question the motivation of the vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry that Biden himself has condemned as “a baseless political stunt that even Republicans in Congress admit is not supported by facts”.

Peter Doocy, Fox’s White House correspondent, was among the most vocal, telling viewers that “Republicans are still trying to connect” money that the president’s son, Hunter Biden, earned overseas to accounts controlled by Joe Biden.

I sometimes find the algorithms websites use to rotate various ads on their articles add an accidental commentary to story. As you see in my illustration on the top of this page I found a photo of someone falling flat to put next to me screen grab of the article.

Then when I looked at the article a second time there was an ad for a cremation service.

Put the two in sequence and we can say that the GOP has fallen flat on their face and is about to be incinerated in a cremation oven.

No ‘concrete evidence’: The Fox News hosts speaking out against impeachment.

Excerpt:

Fox News and Fox Business have been bastions of anti-Biden propaganda, often hyping House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer’s (R-KY) Joe Biden/Hunter Biden probe.

But Newsweek’s Ewan Palmer, in an article published Friday, points out that some Fox News hosts “have openly expressed skepticism about the House Republican attempts to impeach President Joe Biden, or noted the lack of evidence to back up the corruption allegations.
