In “The Caine Mutiny” during his court martial Capt. Queeg had a full-on paranoid break. You can watch the video clip here. Whether Trump goes demonstrably clincally paranoid on the witness stand the way Queeg did doesn’t matter as long as it happens in public.
Yesterday I considered the question as to whether Trump was close to becoming or had already become mentally ill in my blog (here). The shrinks weigh in on the one thing Trump can’t control and it could be his undoing.
I made this image to illustrate it:

This morning former senator Claire McCaskell was on Morning Joe. The key line for me was “and he’s got mental illness, for gosh sake!” She added that he also haqs a personality disorder, but while we care that he’s a malignant personality members of the Trump cult don’t understand what this is, or actually think it a good thing. However, they do know what a mental illness is.

If Trump begins to decompensate in one of the trials that isn’t televised there a chance he will do so outside of the courtroom in front of cameras. All the better though if it happens in a televised trial like the one in Georgia.
In Trump’s case he won’t be ranting about who had the locker ket and strawberries. His paranoia will take a different form but be just as removed from logic and as obviously the product of an unhinged and demented mind as was Capt. Queeg’s.
