There was some extraordinary news today which should interest physicists. It was reported in the HuffPost article “Trump: Sidney Powell Was ‘Never’ My Lawyer, But She’s Right About ‘Rigged’ Election.”

The article begins:

Donald Trump continued to push lies about a stolen election while reacting to lawyer Sidney Powell’s decision to accept a plea deal from Georgia prosecutors trying Trump and associates with racketeering and conspiracy.

In a Sunday morning post on Truth Social, the former president straddled the line between defending Powell and trying to distance himself from the attorney, who was a key figure in Trump’s 2020 “Stop the Steal” efforts.

In typically turgid style, Trump ranted about the “rigged” presidential election while also maintaining that Powell was never actually his lawyer.

I looked turgid up to be sure I knew the exact meaning. It is tediously pompous or bombastic. Of course with Trump you’d change “or” to “and” since he’s both.

These are the things that exist in the Trump universe which it seems impossible for them to both exist. If first is true the second can’t be true. This is the most recent example.

Sidney Powell was one of millions and millions of people who thought, and in ever increasing numbers still think, correctly, that the 2020 Presidential Election was RIGGED & STOLLEN, AND OUR COUNTRY IS BEING ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED BECAUSE OF IT!!! Despite the Fake News reports to the contrary, and without even reaching out to ask the Trump Campaign, MS. POWELL WAS NOT MY ATTORNEY, AND NEVER WAS. In fact, she would have been conflicted. Ms. Powell did a valiant job of representing a very unfairly treated and governmentally abused General Mike Flynn, but to no avail. His prosecution, despite the facts, was ruthless. He was an innocent man, much like many other innocent people who are being persecuted by this now Fascist government of ours, and I was honored to give him a Full Pardon!

This is what Trump posted on Twitter on Nov. 20, 2020 announcing that Sidney Powell was added to his “truly great team” led by Rudy Giuliani.

As I began to write this it was being discussed on Morning Joe.

I don’t claim to know a whit about quantum mechanics beyond that recent advances have provided evidence of some fascinating phenomena like quantum entanglement, more commonly called spooky action at a distance, and the notion that two particles can exist in the same place at the same time.

You may have heard of the the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), the world’s largest and most powerful particle accelerator and other particle accelerators at the CERN scientific complex in Switererland. The LHC consists of a 27-kilometre ring of superconducting magnets with a number of accelerating structures to boost the energy of the particles along the way.

When subatomic particles are smashed together at speeds that would push a person’s eyeballs through thier heads and possibly into another dimension it has been possible to prove things that experts had only been able to predict before.

Now we have a human analogue to this machines in none other that the man who has claimed to have the biggest brain, none other than the disgraced real estate developer and reality TV star (I stole that descrption from the HuffPost article) who managed to be elected president thanks to a combination of the bigotry and gullibility of the voters and gerrymandering.

It has yet to be determined what circuitry exists under that orange quiff remains to be determined, but could it be that Trump actually has some kind of particle accelerator there which can do seemingly miraculous things like bending and distorting time, ripping the very fabric of the universe and creating a new physics that even Albert Einstein and Steven Hawking’s never imagined.

Here I thought that the academic study of how Trump’s mind worked was only of interest to mental health professionals like me. With the advancements in medical imaging technology I thought it would be interesting to have fMRI and PET scan images of Trump’s brain analyzed by experts to see if his brain was really as unique as he claimed it was.

Now I am thinking, in the interest of science, that if he can defy what have been considered to be the existing laws of physics it may be of vital importance to see what kind of sub-cranial technology he has been hiding under his skull. Given his unhinged personality it is terrifying to imagine that he could unleash superpowers to destroy his enemies, give himself immortality and rule the planet (if not the cosmos) for eternity. You know he wants to do this.
