The screenshot above is from the discussion with Ruth Ben-Ghiat who is an expert on fascism and authoritarian leaders, on The Ali Velshi Show this morning about Trump haing posted an image of himself sitting in a courtroom next to Jesus. It doen’t take me long these days to prove Godwin’s Law when it comes to Trump and make then make a reference Hitler.
There’s nothing good one can say about Hitler unless, of course, you happen to be a modern day Nazi. One could say that he cared for Eva Braun and his dogs but that’s about it, though you’d be hard pressed to convince me that Donald Trump cares as much about Melania as Hitler did about Eva. Of course dogs should be grateful that Trump has never had any pets unless you consider a former Playboy pet, Karen McDougal.
You might be tempted to admire Hitler for having the guts to commit suicide but consider why the hell did it have to kill his dogs too. You can understand why he didn’t want the abject humiliation of being tried and hung for war crimes.

However, did he really need to deprive dog, Blondi, of life because she’d be adopted by the Allies, or let Eva kill her two dogs. Hitler shot himself and Eva, but the day before tested a cyanide pill on Blondi which killed her.
Even Blondi’s pups were killed before the Allies could get them. (Reference)

As to whether Hitler would have allowed himself to be depicted with Jesus at his side in the media, this is impossible to be sure of. His true relgious beliefs are still a matter of debate (see Wiki article).
I suppose Hitler could have based his defense at Nuremberg on that he was answering to a higher power in everything he did and was implementing God’s plan.
There was a meme that went viral that Trump admired Hitler which Snopes judged as false:

Then there’s this report: Donald Trump’s ex-wife (Ivana) once said Trump kept a book of Hitler’s speeches by his bed.
According to a 1990 Vanity Fair interview, Ivana Trump once told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that her husband, real-estate mogul Donald Trump, now a leading Republican presidential candidate, kept a book of Hitler’s speeches near his bed.
“Last April, perhaps in a surge of Czech nationalism, Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler’s collected speeches, My New Order, which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed … Hitler’s speeches, from his earliest days up through the Phony War of 1939, reveal his extraordinary ability as a master propagandist,” Marie Brenner wrote.

While Trump never authorized selling an NFT image of him wearing a crown of thorns or having a halo I wouldn’t be surprise to see him using such an image. He sits next to Christ, why not share his belief that he is the Second Coming? After all, others have posted images of him as a Devine figure. For example, if you do a Google Image search for Trump as Jesus these are some of the illustrations you’ll find some of these:

I expect Trump’s lawyers will base much or all of their defense on Trump’s believing that the election was stolen and that he owed it to the people to stop an illegitimate president from taking office on Jan. 6th. Thisdefense has so many holes in it that if it was a strainer it would look if not like this…

… at least like this:

Trump might do better if he claimed he was following God’s will. Who knows, all he needs is one evangelical juror to believe him. Even if this didn’t work he could claim that God personally spoke to him and told him he had to make sure that the electoral count was stopped by any means possible. Then his lawyers could mount an insanity defense.
